The Rise of Anonymous Apps

March 09, 2016

Whisper
Annoymous app that allows users to upload messages with their choice of image.

Whisper is seen as a news source and a way of expressing thoughts. The stories are embarrassing, heartfelt and sometimes pranks.

Blindspot

This app allows users to send photos and messages to any number they wish but remain anonymous!

This app is funded by celebrities such as Nicki Minaj and David Guetta.

There have been campaigns to get BlindSpot removed from the App store and to close it down. The app has been scrutinised for encouraging bullying and causing upset.

Young teens and kids who are aware of the app have seen suffering from online bullying in their friends and personal experiences. They are fighting against the app and bidding for it to be removed. Celebrities who were recruited to promote the app have removed the adverts from their social media accounts and stopped their endorsements.

The apps marketing campaign:
“Don’t you ever wish you could say what’s on your mind without everyone knowing it was you? Now you can … send one-on-one messages to your friends, your crush, or anyone on your contact list without them knowing it’s you. The playful app lets you flirt, play pranks, or tell secrets without revealing your identity until you’re ready.
Thanks to BLINDSPOT, things are about to get interesting.”

Our campaign aims to build brand awareness among 13-18 year old girls and promote self love and uniting girls apposed to causing drama. We want to unite young girls who are exposed to apps like this and build a trusting relationship with them. Our campaign involves Snapchat, Tumblr and Instagram, all of which are very popular among this age group. By creating the sub brand (Scream Moschino) girls can become part of a community that doesn't take themselves too seriously, celebrates girl power and empowers young girls to keep away from negativity. Our focus on accessories and catering to a market who loves their phone allows us to create something positive for these girls to become a part of.
